Heike Becker

Heike Becker is a professor of anthropology at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa. Her research and writing explores the intersection of politics, culture, and aesthetics mainly in southern Africa (South Africa and Namibia).  She is the author of Namibian Women’s Movement, 1980 to 1992: From Anticolonial Resistance to Reconstruction. Becker writes about youth-led and student protests on the African continent.
