Rafael Bernabe is long-time socialist and activist in Puerto Rico. A member of the Partido del Pueblo Trabajador (Working People’s Party), he was the party’s candidate for governor in 2012 and 2016. Currently a professor at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, he is author of numerous works on Puerto Rican history, culture and politics, including Puerto Rico in the American Century: A History since 1898 (with César Ayala).
