Terry Eagleton is a left-wing literary critic, writer, and chair in English literature in Lancaster University's department of English and creative writing. His books include, Literary Theory, The Illusions of Postmodernism, After Theory, Why Marx was Right, The English Novel: An Introduction, and The Event of Literature.
